GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, April, 1752 Among the various articles of interest in this issue are: "Christ the Only Saviour--Hutchinsonian Criticisms" "Hebrew Words Misinterpreted by the Hutchinsonians" "The Head of William Caxton, First Printer" with a print of him; "Description of Ventilators Erected in Newgate" which includes two accompanying full page plates; and more.Near the back is the "Historical Chronicle" with news reports of the day.
All three full page plates called for are present, two described above & the other showing various forms of coral.
Complete in 48 pages, measures 5 by 8 inches, a full title/contents page featuring an engraving of St. John's Gate.
A very nice pre-Revolutionary War magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content including news of the day, political reports, literary items, and other unusual tidbits. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
