Page 2 begins with a very lengthy editorial on: "The War With Mexico". Additionally page 3 has: "Further Details of Late Events In Mexico".
Page 3 has a full column taken up with "Army Court Martial - Case of Lieut. Col. Fremont". Fremont was convicted in court-martial for mutiny and insubordination over a conflict of who was the rightful military governor of California. After his sentence was commuted and he was reinstated by President Polk, Fremont resigned from the Army.
Page 3 also has: "The New Mormon Location" which includes: "...was sent on in advance by the Mormon 'Twelve'...the Mormons have located their grand gathering place about half way between the Utah and Salt Lake, in California...a fertile valley extending the whole distance of several miles in breadth...There they have laid out a city..." and more.
Four pages, very nice condition.
