DAILY NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., April 9, 1841
* President William H. Harrison
* Washington D.C. death - funeral
All four pages has wide, black "mourning" rules around the perimeter for the death of President William Henry Harrison.
Nearly half of page 2 is taken up with many "...evidences of public sentiment..." for the death of Harrison, containing many reports about his death.
Page 3 begins with a very lengthy account headed: "The Funeral" which begins: "When, but four weeks since, it was our welcome task to lay before our readers a sketch of the joyous scenes which marked the inauguration of a beloved Chief Magistrate, how little did we--alas! how little did any one--anticipate that our columns would so soon be occupied with the particulars of his Funeral Obsequies?..." with much much more. Just terrific detail on the funeral.
Many other articles & reports concerning Harrison as well. simply a great wealth of fine content--particularly the funeral details--and terrific to have this in a newspaper from the nation's capital.
Four pages, very nice condition.
