Page 4 has a very interesting article: "The Purchase Of The Slaves" which takes most of a column and concerns a proposition whereby the federal government would purchase slaves from their owners in border states and emancipate them, etc.
Page 2 also has an interesting & lengthy editorial: "No Civil War".
