Scott's Armistice", the latter containing in part: "...the recent triumphant victories before the city of Mexico...As a conqueror, with the capital of Mexico at his mercy, he could with honor, and in the spirit of humanity, pause and say to his prostrate foe, 'It is not yet too late--do as I desire, and I will not humiliate you further by taking possession of your capital.'..." with much more.
Other items include a letter datelined from Camp Buena Vista; "Mexican Reflections Upon their Defeats" "From Tampico" and more.
