A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. Rhett; "Army of the Potomac" "From the 13th Virginia Regiment" "From Hampton's Legion" "Cold-Blooded Murder" "The War--Northern News, Rumors and Lies--Miscellaneous Incidents--Extracts from Southern Journals" which includes an address to General Fremont signed by A. This is concerning Fremont issue what was essentially an Emancipation Proclamation without Lincoln's permission, which would be rescinded & Fremont replaced. Also: "Kentucky--Soul-Stirring Address from Gen. Buckner to the Freemen of Kentucky--Advance of Confederate Troops into the State--Gen. Buckner's Proclamation" which is lengthy coverage & includes the text of the speech signed by him in type: S. B. Buckner.
