Sorry, but this item is no longer available. Please be in touch at info@rarenewspapers.com if you would like to be placed on a want list or are interested in a potential alternate issue.
CHICAGO SUNDAY TRIBUNE, sport's section only, September 15, 1929

* Philadelphia Athletics win NL Pennant
* Major League Baseball - MLB
* Portraits of the players & coach

The front page of this section has a banner headline: "CUBS BEAT ROBINS, 3-0; MACKS CLINCH FLAG" with subheads and box scores. But what is great about this issue are portraits of the starting players and coach Connie Mack. Players include Jimmy Foxx, Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane and Lefty Grove. (see) A great item for display. They would go on and defeat the Cubs in the World Series.
Complete sport's section only with all 12 pages, this is the "rag edition" printed on very high quality newsprint meant for institutional holdings. In great condition as such.
