THE DAILY COURIER, Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Oct. 10, 1972
* Freedom of the Press
* Unusual front page
This issue features one of the more striking front pages of the 20th century, being mostly blank with: "NO NEWS TODAY!" and a "Censored!" stamp across the middle.
The "Don't Let This Happen..." introduces the freedom-of-the-press celebration during national Newspaper Week. Text on page 2 emphasizes the importance of freedom of the press in American society and its need to be maintained (see).
The balance of the issue is quite typical.
In its effort to celebrate this important foundation to American society it created an unusual collectable. Complete in ten pages, a silver dollar-size worm hole in the top half with a much smaller worm hole in the masthead, otherwise good.
