As noted in the masthead this was the: "Gazette of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" and as such is replete with military news of all sorts.
The entire front page is taken up with a report on: "The Campaign In Virginia" with subheads "The Canal at Dutch Gap" and "The Shenandoah Valley." Other reports within include those headed: "The Attack On Mobile" "The Interview with Mr. Davis" being Jefferson Davis (great reading: see) which takes over a full page; "A New Formation For Infantry" "Army & Navy Personal" "General Sherman's Operations" "The Battle of Mobile Bay" and so much more.
Sixteen pages, 10 by 15 inches, very nice condition.
