October 13, 1914

THE NEWS SCIMITAR - BASEBALL EXTRA, Memphis, Tennessee, and THE ALLENTOWN MORNING CALL, Pennsylvania, October 9, 10, 12, and 13, 1914  (a four-issue set)

The News Scimitar dated October 13 has the dramatic front page, "BRAVES WIN," which tells of the 1st time in history (to-date) that a team won the World Series in four straight games (see images). Tons of details and the box score are included on the front page, with more on inside pages.
As an added bonus, individual issues containing the other three games of the series are also included - making this a full World Series set.
All issues are believed to be complete, but the set is being sold for the World Series content - particularly the final game. They are all extremely fragile, have edge chipping, and must be handled with care. The issue dated the 13th has a few small archival mends, and inside pages are split at the mid-fold (common). Other issues are in similar condition. 1-2 archival folders are recommended for storage.
