All columns on all  pages are black-bordered in memory of the recently assassinated President Abraham Lincoln.
The ftpg. includes: "THE ASSASSINATION" "The Reporters Not Allowed at the Trial" "The Counsel Engaged" "Portions of the Evidence to be Published" "The Prisoners Closely Guarded" "Appearance of the Prison". One of the subheads is: "Mrs. Surratt Contrite" (see). Also much on the closing events of the Civil War including: "From Gen. Sherman's Army--Grand Triumphal March through Petersburg, Va..." "From North Carolina" "Nine Thousand Stand of Arms Received from Johnston...".
Inside pages have more on both the end of the war and the Lincoln assassination & funeral. Twelve pages, small loss to an upper corner of the back leaf, very nice condition.
