President G. W. Bush speaks before the Israeli Knesset...

Item # 653772

May 16, 2008

LOS ANGLES TIMES, May 16, 2008

* President Bush speaks before the Israeli Knesset
* Condemns Hamas and Hezbollah - labels as terrorists
* Uses language similar to that used to Nazis before WW2

Page 17 has, "Bush derides terrorism 'appeasement'," which tells of his speech before the Israeli Knesset, and includes excerpts and a photo. Page 4 has the related, "In Israel, Bush offers happy birthday wishes," which includes in part: "President Bush, addressing the Israeli parliament on Thursday, delivered a staunch commitment to the defense of the Jewish state and a stern warning to those who might threaten its existence. Bush labeled Hamas... and Hezbollah... as terrorists with whom there can be no negotiation." Additional Middle-East coverage is found throughout.
Unrelated is the feature article on the front page regarding the historic decision of the California Supreme Court to overturn the ban on gay marriage. Nice to have in a prominent California newspaper.
All major sections are present, but Classifieds and advertising inserts are not included. Slight (typical) browning at the midfold. The front page has a small archival mend in the right margin which is inconsequential. Overall, the issue is in very good condition. See images for details.
