Page 3 has a speech of the Marquis of Rickingham relating to America & the controversies there. One mention: "...Whether the trade of Great Britain should ultimately sustain a shock & the whole body of North American merchants be reduced to suffer hardships...The vast increase & consequent importance of the North American trade being thus clearly demonstrated..." and more. Then another letter: "...For the purpose of considering the grievances of British America." which includes: "That we will bear the most faithful allegiance to his Majesty King George the Third...But as the love of liberty & attachments to the real interests & just rights of America outweigh every other consideration, we resolve that we will exert every power within us for the defence of America liberty..." with more.
And even better content concerning affairs with America are on the back page, with one bit: "...I know it may be said I am proving too much: If America is so powerful that we cannot conquer her, we cannot govern her, and therefore she may as well be independent..." and much more. Photos show just portions.
Four pages, an archival mend to a tear in the top quadrant, nice condition.
