Page 3 has reports headed: "Edinburgh" with late items concerning the Jacobite Rebellion. A few bits include: "Among the prisoners brought in...were some deserters from Lee's who were closely confined in the Castle...was almost a continual setting out of witnesses for Carlisle to give evidence for & against the unfortunate Rebel prisoners...notwithstanding the most diligent search to apprehend the rebel stragglers, some have escaped with their Pretender to Ostend & are now gone into the French service. Last week some Rebels who were lurking in this city...were discovered & closely confined..." and more.
Four pages, nice red tax stamp on the ftpg., 8 by 10 inches, great condition.
