DAILY DISPATCH, Richmond, Virginia, Oct. 22, 1861  A nice & quite famous newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. Among the front page items are: "Ineligibility of Officers of the Army for Congress" "The Story of a Mormon Woman--Effects of Polygamy" "From Mecklenburg" "Medical Department of the Army" "An Interesting Incident---A Soldier who was Stolen from Home when a Child Discovers His Parents" and some smaller items.
Inside pages have much on the war including: "Affairs In Kentucky" "From Norfolk" "Local Matters" "A Patriotic Mission" "Another Naval Engagement Near New Orleans" "Naval Engagement off Ship Island" "The Engagement Near Harper's Ferry" "Latest From Western Virginia--Withdrawal of Federal Troops" "Latest from the South" "Operations of the Federals at Hatteras--Interesting Trial in New Orleans---The Late Fight near Harper's Ferry" and a large number of subheads amongst the 4 columns of reports on the war.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, some period writing at the bottom of the first leaf does not affect any mentioned reports, scattered foxing, generally good condition.
