* Nice herald eagle masthead engraving


The dominant feature is the beautiful masthead, featuring a great engraving of a heraldic eagle with U.S. shield. A great masthead for display.
The ftpg. is part of the continued "History of America" by William Robertson. Page 2 has a report noting in part: "...a petition has been presented by the state of South Carolina to Congress praying that a federal court may be appointed conformable to the articles of confederation & perpetual union, to decide a dispute concerning boundaries between the said state and the state of Georgia...".
A page 3 item mentions: "...Legislature of...Pennsylvania lately passed an act to empower the Supreme Executive Council to draw...five hundred pounds in favour of Thomas Payne [Paine], Esquire, the celebrated author of Common Sense, etc."
Four pages, discrete archival mend at the blank spine, very nice condition.
