NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, June 19, 1819  Page 2 begins a 3 1/2 page article titled: "Mitigation of Slavery--No. 4" which notes near the beginning: "Having...satisfactorily accounted for the general inferiority of the black compared with white people, & shewn it  to be morally impossible that they should possess any considerable degree of dignity of character...We shall now proceed to exhibit a plan to ameliorate their condition & advance them to a state of self-respect..." with much more.
There are 3 1/2 pages taken up with charts on imports. Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 10 inches, very good condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
