March 22, 1919
NEW YORK TIMES, March 22, 1919 The sports section has one column headlines: "BABE RUTH FINALLY SIGNS WITH BOSTON" and "Red Sox Slugger Accepts Contract Said to Call for $27,000 for Three Years". See photos for the text.
Interesting that Babe Ruth signed a three year deal when he would be traded to the New York Yankees the following year. He had argued for more money with Boston's management. Was this a prelude to the most famous trade in baseball history? A nice item on his final year with the Red Sox. Nice to have in this in the desired New York Tim.
Complete in 24 pages, a small library stamp & mailing address in the masthead, very minor margin wear, otherwise in nice condition.
