October 30, 1886

HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, October 30, 1886  Although you get the entire 16 page issue, it is the "large foldout "Supplement" issue which is more highly prized.
Of the many foldout Supplements in Harper's Weekly, this one--unquestionably, in my opinion--ranks as the very best. It is also one of the most desirable.
The Supplement is a four page foldout measuring 44 x 16 inches and shows New York Harbor with a close-up of the newly dedicated Statue Of Liberty. This dramatic foldout print is rarely found bound in the weekly issue, and usually when it is, it's in very poor condition due to the constant folding & unfolding. This print is in very nice, clean, frameable condition which was rarely "visited". Also a rarity is Liberty's flame being fully present with a bit of margin above it, as this portion of the print extends beyond the border and is typically trimmed off in the binding process.
A great print celebrating the dedication of the Statue of Liberty. Some creases from when folded into the issue, otherwise in nice, clean condition.
The last photo shows the same print hanging in our office & shows how nicely it can be framed. The print being offered is not framed.
