NEW YORK TIMES, Feb. 4, 1861 The front page has much on the troubles leading to the Civil War including: "Rumored Attack by South Carolina Troops" "Seizure of the Mint & Custom House at New Orleans" and more. Page 5 has half a column on: "From Mr. Lincoln's Home" "Hospitalities Tendered--Cabinet Speculations--The Illinois Legislature & the Peace Commissioners" and "The Case of the Fugitive Anderson (see images). Also: "Later From the Pacific" "Arrival of the Pony Express...". Page 4 has: "Reasons for the Acquisition of Louisiana by Jefferson good for Retaining it by Lincoln".
Eight pages, even toning, slight irregular left spine, some small edge tears, otherwise in good condition.
