PRESCOTT JOURNAL MINER, Arizona, April 30, 1932

* Massie murder trial verdict
* Thomas and Thalia Massie
* Joseph "Joe" Kahahawai Jr

This 6 page newspaper has a nice banner headline on the front page: "MANSLAUGHTER VERDICT FOR ISLAND QUARTET" with subheads (see photos). 1st report coverage on the conviction of Thomas H. Massie and others for the murder of Hawaiian prizefighter Joseph Kahahawai.

Other new and various advertisements of the day throughout. Minor margin wear, otherwise good.

Background (source Wiki): The Massie Trial for what was known as the Massie Affair, was a 1932 criminal trial that took place in Honolulu, Hawaii. Grace Hubbard Fortescue, along with several accomplices, was charged with murder in the death of well known local prizefighter Joseph Kahahawai. Fortescue was the mother of Thalia Massie, who had brought charges that Kahahawai was one of a group of men that had raped her (she had actually never been raped - she had fabricated the story). Clarence Darrow came out of retirement to defend the accused.
