Page 2 has a few bits on the Revolutionary War including: "...arrived from New York says that General Washington has been, all last summer, in a bad state of health, & very often confined to his bed which the Provincials give out as the course of their inactivity the last campaign...received from Gen. Prevost he mentioned his intention of attacking Charlestown [Charleston], to which he was particularly induced from the disgust which the inhabitants, there have not only to Congress, but to Gen. Lincoln, who has behaved to several of them in a very tyrannical manner." This is followed by a letter from an officer at New York with a few more war-related items (see).
Four pages, red tax stamp on the ftpg., good condition.
