THE ST. JAMES'S CHRONICLE, London, July 2, 1765

* The African Slave Trade - slavery
* Dutch West India Company begins

From the year of the hated Stamp Act, but no mention of it here. The ftpg. has a letter from Newport, Rhode Island, and a mention from Senegal that: "...the Dutch West India merchants have entered very largely into the African trade & contracted with the Havannah Company to supply the Spanish settlements with an annual number of Negro Slaves; which proceedings have greatly disgusted the French merchants concerned in the Slave Trade."
Four pages, bit of margin wear, good condition.
