November 17, 1832

NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Nov. 17, 1832  The front page has a lengthy editorial which begins:
"The presidential election has so far proceeded as to render the result certain, that "Andrew Jackson of Tennessee" will be re-elected president, and 'Martin Van Buren, of New York', be elected vice president of the United States--if they shall live until the meeting of the electoral colleges in December next..." with more.
Page 2 contains a report on the death of Charles Carroll, which begins: "Charles Carroll, of Carrollton, the last survivor of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, has departed. He died on Wednesday last..." with more on the particulars.
Among other reports in this issue are:"Elections"; "Miscellaneous Scraps"; "Headquarters of the Army"; "Turkish Reform"; and "Condition of Ireland".
Complete in 16 pages, minor foxing, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
