NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Oct. 22, 1814  Nearly the first 12 pages are taken up with "The Instructions" to the ambassadors to England charged with negotiating a peace to end the War of 1812. Included are 5 letters signed in type by: Jas. Monroe and one by the President: James Madison.
An article: "Pirates of Barrataria" has a New Orleans dateline and mentions: "...completely successful in breaking up the nest of pirates at that place...The principal (Lafitte) escaped; but the second in command, Dominique, is taken..." with more concerning the pirates in the Caribbean. Rare mention of famed pirate Jean Lafitte.
Other articles include: "Enemy Repulsed at Mobile" which is signed: A. Jackson; various reports under: "Events of the War", and a back page item: "Slave Trade" (see photos).
Complete in 16 pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, lite scattered foxing, otherwise in nice condition.

This small size newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
