The back page has a notable update on the big news of the ear which was the signing of the treaty ending the Revolutionary War: "Extract of a Letter from Paris" notes: "Since my last, Preliminary Articles for a general peace are absolutely agreed on between the different powers, and positively will be signed the beginning of January; or the moment the courier dispatched to Holland returns. Matters were all finally settled and adjusted between England, France, and America, on the evening of the 10th inst..." and following this are some terms concerning who gets what portions of land, etc., noting: "...Spain is to have the entire possession of Florida..." & other talk of who should get Puerto Rico, Newfoundland, etc. (see). Also mention that: "Most people here are of opinion Dr. Franklin will immediately return to England." In reality the treaty would not be signed until September 3.
