NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, July 3, 1830 Near the back is: "The Choctaw Indians" includes several letters concerning them including: "...The nation begin to live like the white people & they dress quite decently at public collections. They begin to raise plenty of stock of all kinds..." and: "...am satisfied that their means of living by the chase have much declined; but that they have been gradually & pretty generally improving in the art of making clothing & subsistence from the cultivation of the earth..." with more.
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/4 inches, damp stain to a lower corner, good condition.
