June 14, 1932

THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 14, 1932

* Dr. Charles Augustus Leale M.D. death
* Doctor who attended Abraham Lincoln
* Amelia Earhart visits Brussels, Belgium

Page 9 has a one column heading: "Mrs. Putnam Honored By Belgian King" with subhead. (see)
Page 21 has a one column heading: "DR. C. A. LEALE DIES; SAW LINCOLN SHOT" with subheads and photo. (see) Charles Leale was the first doctor to arrive at the presidential box at Ford's Theatre after John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln. His efforts allowed Lincoln to live until the next morning. I suspect this is one of the few publications to report this particular event as other titles in our inventory do not.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 44 pages, light toning and minor wear at the margins, generally nice.
