NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, June 24, 1837

Inside has a great report headed: "Texas" which includes a lengthy: "Address To the Army of Texas" signed in type by: Sam. Houston. In the letter he congratulates the efforts & heroism of those who fought in the battles for Texas independence, beginning: "Comrades: You are the declared champions of the liberties of your country. The world regards you as such...Teas regards you as among the proud defenders of human freedom..." with much more, & ending: "...Let such feelings animate the army of Teas and their fame will be eternal. Comrades! I salute you." (see).
There is also nearly a column of: "Texian Politics". And also inside; "Letter form A Seneca Chief" is signed: "Big Kettle" with his "X" mark.
Sixteen pages, 8 12 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
