CHARLESTON DAILY COURIER, South Carolina, June 16, 1864 This was one of only a few newspapers which printed "Confederate States of America" in the dateline (see). The front page includes: "From Gen. Lee's Army" "Gen. Lee's Official Dispatch" "Grant Across the Chickahominy" "The Yankees at Westover and Wilcox's Landing" "Latest Yankee News" "From Gen. Johnston's Army" "From Atlanta--Remains of Lieut. General Polk--Funeral Services" "The Defence of Petersburg" "From Gen. Johnston's Army" "Siege of Charleston" and other items.
The back page is mostly taken up with ads but does have some news items.
Complete as a single sheet newspaper, a few very small holes caused in the paper-making process & not by wear, very minor loss in an upper corners, generally nice condition.
