The front page is taken up with ads, reports from Europe--including "The American Crisis In England"-- and "How The North Regards the News From Europe".
Among the topics on the page 2 editorial is the finances of the North, the editor noting: "The enemy's exultation over their recent achievements will be extravagant enough...If it had been possible before to save the Northern finances, it will not be now. The government will take a new plunge into the sea of financial trouble..." with much more (see for portions).
Page 2 also has much on: "The Battle of Roanoke Island--Additional Particulars--Burning of Elizabeth City, N.C." taking over a full column. Also on the inside pages are: "The Roanoke Island Disaster" "Alleged Frauds & Abuses in the Penitentiary" "Fire, Famine & Slaughter" which is a poem to Seward; "The Rebellion of East Tennessee--Its Progress and End" "Telegraphic News--Later from Roanoke Island..." "General Newspaper Report" and other items.
The back page is mostly taken up with various Acts of the Confederate Congress, several relating to the Civil War.
Complete as a four page issue, never bound nor trimmed, in great condition.
