NEW YORK TIMES, May 29, 1963

* Dr. Timothy Leary's drug experiments
* The hippie generation at the beginning

Page 13 has a very notable report relating to the psychedelic era of the 1960's, being an early  report of  Dr. Timothy Leary. The report is headed: "OUSTED EDUCATOR REBUTS HARVARD", "Denies He Broke Pledge in Testing Drugs on Students" which is actually about Dr. Richard Alpert, however further into the article mentions Leary doing the same tests as well.
Leary was known for his advocacy of psychedelic drugs while teaching at Harvard University. In 1967 while at a "Human Be-In" Leary spoke to a gathering of 30,000 hippies in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and uttered the famous phrase, "Turn on, tune in, drop out".
A significant issue, complete in  68 pages, nice condition.
