November 25, 1938

THE NEW YORK TIMES, November 25, 1938

* Macy's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade
* Uncle Sam float debut
* Ferdinand the Bull captures NYT photo

Page 8 has: "UNCLE SAM SKITTISH IN HIS FIRST PARADE," with subheads: "75-Foot Monster's Conduct in Macy Spectacle Starts Hint He Had More Than Helium" (which speaks of Uncle Sam's erratic behavior), "1,000,000 CHEER HEROES," and "Ferdinand the Bull, Long-nosed Pinocchio, Rip Van Winkle and Snow White Share Honors."
The corresponding photo is of Ferdinand the Bull. Nice to have this coverage in the New York Times.
Other news of the day and holiday-themed advertisements are found throughout.
The issue is in very good condition. While it is believed to be complete in 40 pages, it is being sold for the Macy's Day Parade coverage. Rag (library) edition.
