NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Dec. 10, 1836 Over four pages inside are taken up with: "The Annual Message" being the President's state-of-the-union address, signed in type: Andrew Jackson. This lengthy address is an excellent overview of the events of 1836.
For coin collectors, a rare report on the new Gobrecht half dollar about to be issued, headed: "New Coin" and noting in part: "...as being of superior workmanship and in the highest degree creditable to the artist, Mr. Gobrecht. The beauty & finish are equal to any thing of the kind in this country or Europe."
Sixteen pages, 8 1/4 by 12 inches, some very lite scattered foxing, otherwise in very good condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
