The front page of this famous national newspaper reports much on the recent inauguration of Abraham Lincoln of just 3 days prior, with first column headlines including: "The Troubles of the New Administration" "Probable Reconstruction of the Cabinet of Mr. Lincoln" "Appointment of Mr. Crittenden to the Supreme Court" "Important Speech of Mr. Douglas in the Senate" "He Views Mr. Lincoln's Inaugural as a Pacific Document" "The Army of Office Seekers at Washington" and more.
Keep in mind that Abraham Lincoln was just inaugurated 3 days prior to this newspaper's date.
There is much coverage on the inside page of the coming Civil War, preparations for it, and attempts to prevent it from happening. The back page has an interesting report headed: "The Inaugural In Virginia" giving a Southern view of the inauguration.
