NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, April 28, 1832  Within this issue is an article headed: "Case Of Samuel Houston" which is concerning his trial for flogging William Stanberry. This report is quite lengthy, taking almost 6 pages, with a portion including: "...At the moment of stepping on the side walk Mr. Houston stood before me. I think he called me by my name, and instantly struck me with a bludgeon he had in his hand with great violence & he repeated the blow while I was down; he struck me repeatedly with great violence..." with much more (see for portions).
There are two more reports on the case of Sam Houston, one near the back taking an additional 5 pages, and another on the front page taking about a full column.

Among other reports in this issue are:
* the front page has: "Case of Samuel Houston" taking about a full column
* a document signed by both: H. Clay and Daniel Webster
* various reports from Congress

This issue is complete in 24 pages, measures about 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, very nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia: "Niles edited and published the Weekly Register until 1836, making it into one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States and himself into one of the most influential journalists of his day. Devoted primarily to politics, Niles' Weekly Register is considered an important source for the history of the period."
