FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPERS -- AN EMPIRE ILLUSTRATED, New York, Sept. 27, 1890  Contains a beautiful color cover in celebration of Texas.  Noted as the "first edition" at the bottom.  Inside the cover is: "The Interests Represented by Wright & Lenoir, Fort Worth, Texas" showing 6 scenes including cowboys.
Other prints within: "The Wane of the Season at a Seashore Resort--A Rainy Day" "the Homes & Social Life of Newport, the Millionaire Village" "...House of an Advanced Sioux" "White Ghost, the Most Progressive Chief of the Sioux Nation" "A Country Corn Roast" "The Grant Monument as It Will Appear from the Hudson River..." "Rail Shooting on the Hackensack Meadows in New Jersey" "Sketches In Corsicana (Texas). The back color cover shows buildings in Sherman, Texas.
Included is a supplement with scenes from many Texas cities including Gainsville, Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco including Baylor University; Houston, plus: "Picturesque Scenery in Texas". This supplement has some staining at the bottom portion of the first few leaves.
An unusual issue in very nice, clean condition. Many, many pages of prints which would be nice for display.
