August 08, 1939

THE NEW YORK TIMES, August 8, 1939

* Saudi Arabia oil industry in it's infancy
* California Arabian Standard Oil Company
* Ibn Saud - 1st monarch of Saudi Arabia

The front page has a one column heading: "U.S. COMPANY WINS ARABIAN OIL GRANT" with subhead: "California Standard Paying Ibn Saud $1,500,000 and Royalties--Axis And Rivals Lose" (see) Historic report here at the beginning of the oil industry in Saudi Arabia. I suspect this is one of the few publications to report this particular event as other titles in our inventory do not.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 38 pages, nice condition.
