* Battle of Ball's Bluff
A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy, the city through which all important war news would flow. The front page includes: "From Norfolk--Departure of 36 Federal Vessels from Hampton Roads--Raising the Hulks of the Brig Dolphin & Ship Pennsylvania..." "Major 'General Van Dorn.
Inside includes: "Boulevards For Richmond" "From Norfolk--The Federal Fleet..." "Affairs on the Kanawha" "From Kentucky" "From Gen. Floyd's Command" "More Prisoners Sent South" "The Recent Affair at Rommey". There is also: "By the President--A Proclamation" signed in type by: Jefferson Davis, and there is also a lengthy report taking over 3 columns headed: "The Federal Accounts of the Battle at Leesburg [or Ball's Bluff]--Conflicting Reports--The Capture of the Privateer Salvor--The Potomac Considered as a Boundary". There is also: "General News Items" which has a wealth of war-related reporting.
Complete with four pages. It has light foxing, but is otherwise in very nice condition.
