NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, Aug. 18, 1821  Inside has an article headed: "Major Andre" concerning the removal of his bones to be shipped off to England (see). Also in this issue: "Indian Trade", and an historic report headed: "Admission of Missouri" concerning it formally joining the Union which happened on August 10, 1821. Included is the: "Proclamation - By the President of the United States" concerning Missouri's admission, signed in type by the President: James Monroe, as well as the Secretary of State: John Quincy Adams (see).
Also in this issue; "General La Fayette" followed by: "General La Fayette's Speech" which takes several pages. The back page has a report of a: "Sea Serpent" (see).
Sixteen pages, 6 by 9 1/2 inches, even toning, otherwise in very good condition.
This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia: "Niles edited and published the Weekly Register until 1836, making it into one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States and himself into one of the most influential journalists of his day. Devoted primarily to politics, Niles' Weekly Register is considered an important source for the history of the period."
