THE FLORIDIAN, Tallahassee, Jan. 29, 1848 Nineteenth century newspapers from Florida are uncommon, particularly those from before the Civil War. Here is such an issue from the capital city of Florida, five years before the Civil War.
The front page has literary & other items including: "Use of Tobacco" "Enormous Fortune" "Mixed Races of South America & Mexico". Page 2 has content from late in the Mexican War with: "Late From Vera Cruz (see for portions) with various subheads. Also: "General Santa Anna's Defence" "Mysteries of the Army" "Florida Troops in Mexico" "General Taylor's Opinions" & other items.
Four pages, nice condition.
