March 01, 1813

CONNECTICUT MIRROR, Hartford, March 1, 1813  The ftpg. has: "Slave Trade" noting in part: "...during the year 1810 no less than between 70 and 80,000 negroes were transported as slaves from the western coast of Africa to the opposite shores of the Atlantic..." with much more on this.
Page 2 has: "Official Account of the Capture of the Java" being a letter signed by: W. Bainbridge, one of the more notable naval battles of the War of 1812. Also: "English Accounts of the Defeat of General Winchester - Glorious News!" "Defeat of Gen. Winchester" and a letter from Fort George".
Four pages, archival repair to the bottom of the spine causes no text loss, bit of damp staining, generally good.
