Creating a militia in Boston...

Item # 646092

February 23, 1775

THE MIDDLESEX JOURNAL & EVENING ADVERTISER, London, Feb. 23, 1775  Page 3 has a report headed: "America" with a Boston dateline noting: "...came to several resolutions relative to raising a militia. The preamble begins with: 'Whereas a great part of the inhabitants of this town may soon be called forth to assist in defending the charter & constitution of the province as well as the rights & liberties of all America..." with more on the resolutions (see).
The bkpg. has some discussion in London concerning the American situation, one bit noting: "...Lord North with the most consummate policy begins to relax his measures respecting America. The friends of the American constitution are too powerful against his Lordship, who now heartily wishes for a general coalition both here & on the other side of the Atlantic."
Four pages, nice condition.
