November 09, 1864

BOSTON DAILY EVENING TRANSCRIPT, Nov. 9, 1864

* Abraham Lincoln elected president (2nd term)
* 1st report plus Civil War reporting

The front page has nearly two columns of charts and text on the results of the: "Massachusetts Election", the text beginning: "A Lincoln tornado swept over the state yesterday, destroying all political opposition..." with numerous charts of results from various towns (see for portions).
Further reporting on the election, more from a national perspective, is found on page 2 where the first column is headed: "The Great Popular Victory" "The Union Safe From All Assaults" "Majestic Uprising of the People" "President Lincoln Triumphantly Sustained" with much text, as well as a state-by-state breakdown of the electoral votes for Lincoln (see). This report is headed with a nice engraving of a U.S. flag.
Additional election items are on page 2 as well, including: "The Presidential Election" "New York claimed for Lincoln by 10,000 on the Home Vote", plus there is much reporting on the Civil War also.
Complete in four pages, discrete archival mends to edge tears at the spine, discrete archival mends to wear at the very middle also, generally in very nice, clean condition.
