THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, June 6, 1758
* Battle on Snowshoes
* Rogers' Rangers loss
Half of the front page is taken up with nice accounts of the French & Indian War, beginning: "I suppose before now you have heard of the brave Major Rogers's misfortune. He marched from Fort Edward..." with much more detail. Other datelines are from Annapolis and Pennsylvania, the later mentioning: "Last week some Indian messengers arrived at Bethlehem from the Indians who live on the head branches of the river Susquehanna..." with more.
This coverage carries over to take most of a column on pg. 2. Eight pages, 8 by 11 inches, nice condition.
