DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Jan. 25, 1862 A very nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederate states, with the front page taken up with an equal share of advertisements and news reports, the latter including; "Late Northern News--Notes Of The War" with subheads including: "General Ben. Butler's Expedition" "The Burnside Expedition" "Important From Cairo--The Mississippi Expedition" "Barbarities in Missouri" and more. Also on the ftpg: "American Affairs In Europe--A Month With the Rebels".
The inside pages contain much on the Civil War including the always interesting editorial (see for beginning). Some of the reports are headed: "The Latest Northern News" "Movements & Spirit Of the War" "A Pretty Dodge" "Vice In Richmond" "War Rumours" "Suffering in the Richmond Hospitals" "Legislature of Virginia" "The Courts" City Intelligence" "News From Tennessee" "Runaways Apprehended" and other items. The back page is taken up with ads and various Acts from the Confederate Congress.
Complete in 4 pages, never bound nor trimmed, and in great condition.
