An historic issue on the discovery of the North Pole with the top of the 5th column headed: "Dr. Cook Reaches The North Pole" "American Explorer First To Reach The Goal, On April 21, 1908". The article carries over to page 3.
There has been much controversy concerning whether Cook or Peary discovered the North Pole first, the Smithsonian favoring the report of Cook (see the web for more).
Complete in 12 pages, archival mends to inside pages, small piece from blank spine margin, nice condition but somewhat fragile & should be handled carefully.
