Battle of Mill Springs, Kentucky... First significant Union victory...

Item # 645174

January 31, 1862

DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Jan. 31, 1862  A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederate which has war-related reporting on the front page including: "The Battle In Kentucky" "The Northern Account of the Battle" "Full Details Of The Action" "Desperate Fighting on Both Sides" "The Death of General Zollicoffer" "The Fortifications & Camps". This is a great accounting of the Battle of Bill Springs, Kentucky, considered the first significant Union victory of the war. A significant report which has many subheads & great to have on the front page.
War-related reports carry over to pages 2 & 3 as well where are found items headed: "The Fortifications Near Savannah, Ga." "Frauds In the Government" "The Situation at Savannah" "War Rumours" "The Capture of Cedar Keys" "The Latest Northern News--Movements & Spirit of the War" "Telegraphic News--Latest From the North" and more. The back page is mostly taken up with various Acts of the Confederate Congress.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, some minor tears at margins, generally in very nice condition.
