January 04, 1864

DAILY EXAMINER, Richmond, Virginia, Jan. 4, 1864  A nice newspaper from the capital of the Confederacy. As would be expected there is various reporting on the latest news from the battle fields, including items headed: "Rumours From Richmond" "The Enemy Before Charleston" "The Siege of Charleston" "Reported Appointments" and a few other items.
The back page has the always-interesting editorial, which takes over a full column, and also has much reporting from: "The Confederate Congress". Also: "The Situation In Tennessee" "From Longstreet's Army" "Yankee Atrocities in North Carolina--More of Butler's Rule" and "Later From Norfolk".
Complete as a single sheet newspaper with a one column masthead, which was common during the latter stages of the war as most paper mills were in the North. Never bound nor trimmed and in great condition.
