Jack Johnson the first African-American heavyweight champ, but notice the racial bias...

Item # 644928

December 26, 1908

THE MEMPHIS NEWS SCIMITAR, Tennessee, Dec. 26, 1908  Page 7 has an historic report on the first African-American to claim the heavyweight boxing title: "Johnson Claims The Heavyweight Title", but in an obvious case of racial bias the large, full-figure photo next to the article is the: "Man Who Gives Up World's Title To Negro Fighter", Tommy Burns.
Ten pages, some margin tears, bit irregular at the spine and partially loose at the spine.

Item from Catalog 265 (released for December, 2017)...
